Description

The stories in this book are taken from the Devayana, the third epic of India which was written down by Dr. Hazari, a young follower of the famous Yogi, Sri Aurobindo. These stories are shorter and more concise versions of the translations that are included in More Tales from the Devayana- from the epic. It tells the story of the Four Ages of Time: the Treta Yuga 9Silver Age), Dwapara Yuga (Bronze Age), Kali Yuga (Iron Age, in which we live), and the Satya Yuga or the Golden Age.

The epic consists of more than twelve thousand pages of poetry divided into twelve volumes. First written in Bengali, it has been transcribed into Hindi/Sanskrit by Amita Nathwani, whose mother Dr. Indira Sardana was a devotee in the Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry on the eastern coast of India. She had a serious heart condition which was healed by Dr. Hazari, a homeopathic doctor, and when she learned of the Devayana she determined to make its revelations known to a wider world.

This second selection of stories spans the time between the origins of creation through the threat to, and restore it. The world is still in the thrall of Kali Yuga but as told in the last story, and as foretold in ancient scriptures, the Satya Yuga or the Age of Truth will return.
